Making a Difference

We are committed to planting 1 BILLION GiftTrees and lifting 1 MILLION people out of extreme Poverty

Across 8 Countries

Over 70 tree species

Supporting 12+ communities

Helping hundreds of farming families

WHAT we do

All humans and businesses create natural harm to our planet.  Whilst we may not be able to stop this for good, we can all improve our environmental footprint, counter some of the unavoidable damage to our planet, and help mitigate the impact this has on people in poverty.

We do this by funding the creation and maintenance of agroforestry systems for farming families growing produce like fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds and spices.  We work in partnership with restaurants and ePOS providers, enabling diners to balance their personal impact and give something good to the world by contributing just £1.23 via their restaurant bill.

GiftTrees are grown in agroforestry systems, which means we are helping to achieve food security and dietary diversity for impoverished communities.  It also increases the prosperity (health, wealth, education) of the communities that benefit from them.  Agroforestry systems help to create a circular economy not just for now, but for generations to come.

Sustainable farming is the future for food systems.

Reforestation is a future for our planet.

BOOK A MEETING
HOW it helps the environment

Replenish soil

Soil fertility can be improved through the constant process of pruning, mulching and manuring, creating more fertile land.

Resilient to rainfall

Agrofarming can help provide resilience to rainfall variability, including drought and flooding. It does this by transforming dryland into a sponge that can absorb and channel rainwater into the ground during heavy rain events and release green water during months of drought.

Sequesterng CO2

Trees are a natural way to reduce atmospheric carbon dioxide. Tree planting is key to reversing the impact of industrial farming and each individual's carbon footprint.

BOOK A MEETING
HOW we work

GiftTrees is seamlessly integrated with most of the leading ePOS providers, and we focus on full-service dining experiences.  No cost, no downtime, and no hassle to activate.  It's a simple switch-on to something good!

An opt-out £1.23 GiftTree is added to each diner bill and this guarantees the planting of a tree in an agroforestry project we fund.

Restaurants can view their real forest online with geo-tagged projects.

We reward restaurants with Tokens as recognition and thanks for the part they play in helping to achieve our mission.

The impact is real and the value is tangible.

Forest Gardens

WHAT is Agrofarming?

Agrofarming is a sustainable agricultural process that allows communities to create long lasting eco-systems that allow them to develop the basic opportunities we often take for granted.

Specially trained technicians work in developing countries, helping communities and farmers understand forest garden design, composting, nursery development, perma-gardening and out planting techniques.

These rural communities are then supplied with the trees needed to create sustainable eco-systems.

They are then provided with ongoing support to ensure they continue to develop their skills and create permanent change.

WHY we need Agroforestry

'Slash and burn' is sadly still common practice.  This clearing of trees can have a hugely negative impact on the biodiversity of a region. It can create soil erosion, water pollution and an increase in atmospheric carbon dioxide.

Agroforestry helps reverse the problems caused by these activities and provides for those who are most vulnerable, living in rural areas throughout developing countries.

Often these communities are some of the poorest in the world. These people are missing the basic rights we all take for granted.  Food for their children, income opportunities & health care.

HOW GiftTrees
Helps

Sustainable Food & Living

GiftTrees empower farming communities to grow their own food sustainably. Carefully selected tree species support agroforestry systems that:

  • Produce nutrient-rich fruits, vegetables, and staple crops
  • Offer natural fodder for livestock through low-hanging leaves and foraging zones
  • Provide renewable wood for clean cooking fuel and local construction

Healthier Communities

Access to diverse, organic food grown alongside GiftTrees leads to better nutrition and reduced rates of malnutrition, disease, and illnesses amongst families and communities.

Trees also provide shade, cleaner air, and cooler microclimates and therefore improve overall public health and protection for generations.

Job Creation

Every tree planted creates meaningful and sustainable employment.

From seedling nurseries to planting, maintenance, harvesting, and product sales, GiftTrees projects generate dignified jobs and long-term economic opportunity in rural areas.

Improvement to Enconomy

Agroforestry farming creates surplus produce from fruit trees that can be sold or traded in local markets, generating income for families to access essentials like healthcare, clothing, transport, and mobile connectivity; building financial resilience and economic independence from the ground up.

Access to Education

With stable food supplies and new income streams, parents can afford to send their children to school.

Education is key to breaking the cycle of poverty. GiftTrees helps communities access education and training opportunities by turning environmental restoration into a tool for lasting social impact where it's needed most.
