GiftTrees 2025 Impact Report Tree Planting People And Planet

2025 has been a landmark year for GiftTrees. Together with partners, communities, and supporters, we have continued to demonstrate that tree planting is not just about restoring landscapes. It is about strengthening livelihoods, empowering communities, and creating long term resilience for people and planet.

GiftTrees 2025 Our Impact In Numbers

Here’s a snapshot of what we achieved together this year:

Supporting Rural Communities

    We worked with 98 rural communities, providing alternative livelihoods to unsustainable and unreliable farming practices. By creating new income opportunities, we helped families move away from activities that degrade the environment.

    Reaching Families And Households

    Our programs directly supported 403+ families. A baseline survey highlighted the challenges these communities face: over 65% have no access to electricity, and more than 70% lack household access to clean water. Through our initiatives, we are helping bridge these gaps.

    Empowering Women Through Opportunity

    776 women benefited from employment, training, and access to improved nutrition. By prioritising women’s leadership and economic participation, we strengthen families and communities for generations to come.

    Creating Jobs And Local Leadership

    Our projects created over 370 jobs, including positions in tree planting, transport, and community leadership. These roles provide meaningful income while strengthening local capacity for environmental stewardship.

    Protecting Land And Wildlife Habitat

    Through community agreements and protective barriers, we safeguarded 54 km² of reforested land. This not only ensures trees survive but also creates habitats for wildlife, allowing smaller birds and animals to thrive away from human activity and grazing livestock.

    Training And Environmental Education

    In 2025, we funded 25 training sessions, reaching over 2,260 individuals. These sessions cover restoration techniques, sustainable farming practices, and environmental education, tools that empower communities to maintain healthy landscapes long term.

    Supporting Schools And Education Access

    We directly supported 410 families and households, as well as seven primary and secondary schools, helping children access education while strengthening community resilience.

    Biodiversity Gains Across Restored Landscapes

    Our efforts have enabled communities to protect land that is now home to an estimated 500+ bird species, 160+ mammals, and 45+ amphibians, a thriving reminder of what nature can achieve when given space and care.

    Growing Impact Into 2026

    2025 proves that tree planting is much more than reforestation. It is a holistic approach to social, environmental, and economic change. Every tree planted is a seed of hope, creating lasting benefits for people, wildlife, and the planet.


    As we reflect on this year’s achievements, we are energised to grow further, reach more communities, plant more trees, and restore more landscapes in 2026. Every donation, every partnership, and every action brings us closer to our vision of planting 1 billion trees and lifting 1 million people out of extreme poverty.
