In Chang’ombe, farmers are carefully managing fruit trees such as oranges and passion fruits through the partnership between GiftTrees and Forest Focus. These trees provide essential nutrition for families, improving daily diets and food security.


Any surplus fruit is sold at local markets, creating income that helps families put food on the table, send children to school, and begin building more secure futures. Through this approach, farming becomes a pathway to stability rather than survival.

Strengthening Communities Through Agroforestry

By planting fruit trees through Forest Focus, GiftTrees are supporting farming systems that work with the land and strengthen long-term resilience. These agroforestry practices help families grow reliable food sources while protecting soil and surrounding ecosystems.


The impact of this work extends beyond individual farms, supporting wider community development and shared economic growth.

The Growing Impact Of GiftTrees And Forest Focus

Together with Forest Focus, GiftTrees has already helped plant more than 480,000 trees across more than 20 rural communities. This work has protected more than 54 square kilometres of farmland, supporting healthier ecosystems and safer habitats.


Over 300 households have benefited from improved food security and income opportunities, and more than 100 jobs have been created in local communities facing poverty. These roles provide meaningful employment and help strengthen local leadership and resilience.
