In the semi-arid landscapes of Tewe Mpya, farming families face declining soil fertility and rapid deforestation.

Introducing Agroforestry To Change The Trajectory

Through GiftTrees' support of the Forest Focus Plant to Stop Poverty (PSP) initiative, 120,000 multipurpose trees were introduced in April 2025 to change that trajectory. 


Fruit and timber species, including jackfruit, papaya, mango, lemon, and avocado, are helping households diversify income beyond sisal farming and charcoal production.
