5% Education Fund Supports Modesta on Her Way to College

Through our partnership with Forest Focus and support for the Plant to Stop Poverty initiative, 5% of all contributions is dedicated to supporting the education of young girls in the Tanga region of rural Tanzania, alongside our tree-planting efforts.

We are especially delighted to share the story of Modesta, a Form Four pupil at Kicheba Secondary School, who has been receiving educational support through the Forest Focus initiative, in partnership with GiftTrees. Thanks to her hard work and strong exam results, Modesta has been selected to continue her studies at the Local Government Training Institute in Hombolo.

Modesta’s journey is a powerful reminder that restoring landscapes and supporting communities go hand in hand. By investing in education alongside environmental action, we are helping to create opportunities that last far beyond a single planting season.

We wish Modesta every success as she takes this exciting next step toward her future.

Education That Grows From Environmental Action

Through the partnership with Forest Focus, a portion of each contribution supports educational initiatives for students in rural Tanzania. Meet Modesta And Her Journey Forward

Modesta Mbaraka is a secondary school graduate from the Usambara Mountains who is now heading to college in Dodoma. Her journey has been made possible through educational support from Forest Focus, funded in part by GiftTrees' contributions.

After performing strongly in her national exams, Modesta was selected to join the Local Government Training Institute in Hombolo. Forest Focus continues to support her higher education journey, believing that education will enable her to achieve her goals and become a positive force for change in her community.

As Modesta shares in her own words, she is grateful for the support she received from Form Two through to completing Form Four, and for the continued assistance that will help cover her college education and related expenses.
