Kwamasimba: Integrating Trees into Everyday Farming

Kwamasimba: Integrating Trees into Everyday Farming

Explore how agroforestry in Kwamasimba Village is integrating trees into everyday farming to improve soil health, climate resilience, and livelihoods through the Forest Focus Plant to Stop Poverty initiative.

Integrating GiftTrees Into Everyday Farming In Kwamasimba

In Kwamasimba Village, Bungu Division, thanks to GiftTrees' partnership with Forest Focus, 100,000 agroforestry trees were distributed in October 2025 directly to farming households.

Planting Trees Across Individual Farms

Planted across individual fields, these trees enhance soil fertility, improve microclimates, and strengthen climate resilience. Species such as jackfruit, papaya, mango, lemon, avocado, and cashew were selected to match local conditions and farmer needs. With technical support and equitable distribution, the project ensures high survival rates and long-term impact.

A Practical Pathway To Sustainable Land Use

For a community facing deforestation, erosion, and limited access to services, agroforestry offers a practical pathway toward sustainable land use and improved livelihoods.
