A Tree Planting Model Built On Shared Value

This reflects our ethos of a tree-planting funding model in which every actor in the chain receives a direct benefit for their role in the process, creating shared value for people, nature, and the climate.

Forest Gardening Training For Climate Resilience

Through forest gardening training, farmers learn:

How to diversify crops and integrate trees with food production
Which crops suit the current climate and soil conditions
How to manage moisture and protect soil health
How to make organic compost instead of using chemical fertilisers

Open Access Training And Market Support

These training sessions, which are open to anyone interested in planting regions and are not reserved for those planned to receive GiftTrees seedlings, help farmers adapt to climate change and improve yields on land that has become less productive over time.

In 2025 alone, we reached over 2,260 training session attendees across 25 sessions. Beyond planting, Forest Focus also supports communities in accessing better markets, reducing dependence on middlemen, and increasing household income.

Planting At Scale With Community Impact

Perhaps most importantly, education builds a sense of stewardship. Communities learn that the trees belong to them and that protecting forests means protecting their own futures.

In GiftTrees' first year of planting with Forest Focus, we are thrilled to report the planting of over 1,000,000 trees with rural communities in the Tanga Region of Tanzania. Each one represents not just ecosystem restoration, but food, income, employment, and resilience.
